FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Grundy R-V Announces AMI Day for October 20

Grundy R-V School District will hold an Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) day on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, due to required electrical work by Grundy Electric Cooperative. The work will support the installation of an electrical shutoff and other required electrical upgrades at the high school.

Students will not attend school in person, but will be provided with assignments and directions from their teachers for each class. All work assigned for the AMI day is due Wednesday, October 21, when students return to school.

Participation in AMI assignments is required for attendance. Students who do not complete or attempt to complete the assigned work will be considered absent for October 20. Assignments provided for the AMI day will count toward students’ grades, just as assignments on a regular school day.

We appreciate our families’ cooperation and support as we complete these necessary improvements.

Third graders explored the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of fall during a fun, hands-on scavenger hunt! Students used their senses to observe the changes around them, discover signs of autumn, and record their findings along the way. 🍁🍂

🕵️‍♂️ From Ink Stains to Digital Footprints: Tracking Justice Across Eras My students are stepping into the shoes of historical detectives! This week, they are building a Crime Scene Board that traces the evolution of forensic investigation from the Gilded Age to the modern digital era—with a critical twist. Instead of just focusing on the science, we are highlighting how the pursuit of justice and human rights has evolved over the last 150 years. By mapping clues, technology, and legal rights across three distinct eras, our classroom board reveals a powerful story:

⚖️ Order in the Court! (And History Class!) I am incredibly proud of my students today! They absolutely blew me away with their King Henry VIII Mock Trial presentations. 👩‍⚖️👨‍⚖️ Instead of just memorizing dates from a textbook, they stepped directly into the Tudor court. They took on the roles of lawyers, historical witnesses, and the infamous monarch himself to debate his controversial reign, marriages, and political decisions. 👑

Junior High Basketball games start next week!

Ever think your week is chaotic? Imagine living through the Bronze Age Collapse, changing entire world empires, and inventing things we still use today. 🤯 We just mapped out the ultimate timeline from 1800 BCE to 596 BCE.

🍂 Little feet, big adventures! 🍁 Our preschoolers enjoyed a beautiful fall walk today, collecting colorful leaves and soaking up all the sights and sounds of autumn!
