Grundy R-V Junior High students recently earned their final academic award for the end of second quarter with a trip to Galt Hometown Grocery. Students were given a $5 budget (plus tax) to select food items, turning the reward into a real-world learning experience. From calculating totals to factoring in sales tax, the store aisles were filled with practical math in action as students worked to stay within budget.
